Bio and Resume

Erin Haldane is a mixed-media artist working primarily within watercolor illustration, block printing, and oil painting nature morte. She’s inspired by her love of animals, domestic spaces, symbolism and archetypes, as well as the natural world and seeks to express the subtle magic of the everyday within each of her pieces. She finds that her dreams and inner world is best expressed through her fantastical illustrations and prints and that her observation, appreciation, and meditation of the beauty of the physical world around her is best manifested through oil paint and pencil in her larger works.

Erin is native Alaskan, Tsimshian and was born in and spent most of her childhood in Anchorage, Alaska. She moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2000 and received her BFA from Santa Fe University of Art and Design in 2014. She has maintained a rigorous studio practice and her work has been shown both internationally and locally; at the Universidad Viña del Mar in Chile, in both Albuquerque and Santa Fe [New Mexico], multiple local venues in Portland and Eugene [Oregon], and was represented from 2018-2021 by Bainbridge Arts and Crafts in Bainbridge, Washington. She currently works for the non-profit arts and community organization, Vital Spaces in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
